About Me

I'm Austin Pack, a Network Engineer with 5 years of experience working in multi-vendor environments at a managed service provider. My background includes everything from help desk support to managing complex network infrastructure across Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, and FortiGate platforms.

What started as simple bash scripts to speed up repetitive tasks evolved into a genuine interest in network automation. I build Python tools that help me solve problems I run into at work, whether that's automating configuration backups, generating reports for audits, or just deploying a small change to multiple devices. My home lab serves as a testing ground where I experiment with containerized services, network automation frameworks, and new technologies before implementing them in production.

I'm currently pursuing my CCNP certification to deepen my routing and switching expertise while building a portfolio of automation projects that bridge traditional networking with modern DevOps practices. Long-term, I'm working toward roles in network automation and NetDevOps, but I maintain a strong foundation in core networking principles, because the best automation comes from understanding what you're automating.
